Let's check out the "Favorite Waypoint" feature in Diablo 4. It lets you link your Town Portal to a location you prefer, similar to how Hearthstone works in World of Warcraft. This feature should be available with the Vessel of Hatred release on October 8th.
Players can now mark any Waypoint in the open world as a favorite (default keybind is right-click). This connects the Town Portal (default keybind is T) to a specific location rather than sending you to the local town. You can favorite all Waypoints, not just those in towns! For instance, you could set your Town Portal to the Tree of Whispers to easily turn in Grim Favors and access many crafters.
You can only mark one Waypoint as a favorite at a time. The selected Waypoint will show up on the world map with a "banner" icon, which is used in Diablo 4 to highlight favorites.
If you prefer the Town Portal to send you to the town in your current region, there's no need to worry. The default setting will still take you to the region's town unless you mark a Waypoint as a favorite. A portal to any spot in the open world that was not possible at the time of the game's launch in 2023.
