Bloomberg’s report reveals that Apple Intelligence, the much-awaited AI features from Apple, won’t be part of the initial iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 release in September. They will be added in future updates.
The launch of Apple Intelligence is scheduled for October, just a few weeks after the initial iOS 18 rollout. Early access to Apple Intelligence features will be available for developers this week through iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas. Not all advanced Siri features will be available in the October release, and the full rollout may take until 2025. The news was revealed as the company joined the White House’s effort to develop secure and reliable AI.
The slower rollout approach by Apple may disappoint Apple and AI fans, but it showcases Apple’s dedication to releasing stable, polished features. Apple Intelligence is getting delayed, and Siri 2.0 won’t arrive until 2025. The early demos at WWDC in June should have probably been called teasers.
