How to use Runway’s latest Multi Motion Brush

The new Multi Motion Brush feature from Runway gives you enhanced control over your video projects. You can now animate up to 5 different parts of your output with independent motions.

Step-by-step:

    1. Launch Runway and click on the Gen-2 model. To create the generation, you have the option to upload an existing image or type a text prompt.
    2. Select the Motion Brush feature. On the right side of the panel, you will find five brushes under ‘Motion Canvas’ — each brush can control a different area of the generation with unique movements. Choose Brush 1 and start painting over the area you want to animate.
      • Tip: Use the slider in the upper left corner to change the size of the brush.
    3. Adjust the sliders in the ‘Directional Motion’ to control the movement.
    4. Do the activity in five different places. Once done, click save and then ‘Generate 4s’.
    5. It takes around 1 minute for the generations to complete. Adjust the motion settings to achieve the desired outcome.
