Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Introduces Corning Gorilla Armor 2, the Industry’s First Anti-Reflective Glass Ceramic For Mobile Devices

Samsung Electronics and Corning Incorporated announced that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature Corning® Gorilla® Armor 2, the first scratch-resistant, anti-reflective glass ceramic cover for mobile devices. This innovative material enhances the front displays of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, representing a significant advancement in mobile display technology.

Gorilla Armor 2 represents a significant advancement in glass ceramic technology, providing both high durability and clear display quality for smartphones. By including Gorilla Armor 2 in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung emphasizes its ongoing collaboration with Corning and their mutual focus on innovation and customer satisfaction.

Gorilla Armor 2 is an upgrade from the first generation. It helps devices deal with the tough conditions of daily use. When dropped on rough ground, it is made to prevent damage, like breaking, more successfully. The anti-reflective qualities of Gorilla Armor 2 significantly lessen reflections in any environment, indoors or outdoors. This boosts the display’s contrast, providing a great experience in all types of light.

In laboratory tests by Corning, Gorilla Armor 2 survived falls from 2.2 meters onto a concrete-like surface. Other glass ceramic materials broke when dropped from one meter. Additionally, Gorilla Armor 2 proved to be highly scratch-resistant, showing more than four times the scratch resistance of rival lithium-aluminosilicate glasses with anti-reflective coatings.
