SpaceX and Amazon join forces for satellite launches

Jeff Bezos has finally given up on his longstanding feud with Elon Musk in the space race, as Amazon has now opted for SpaceX to deploy its internet satellites.

Has the curtain fallen on this captivating drama, or are we on the brink of an extraordinary billionaire rivalry that will take us beyond the stars? Let’s investigate…

Amazon has made a bold move by partnering with SpaceX, a major competitor, to launch its Project Kuiper internet satellites from 2025 onwards. This collaboration is a testament to Amazon’s commitment to meeting the FCC’s deadline and delivering high-speed internet to remote areas.

In a significant agreement, Amazon has obtained a contract for 3 Falcon 9 rocket launches to facilitate the deployment of their satellites. By mid-2026, Amazon plans to have a whopping 1,600 Kuiper satellites in orbit, ensuring compliance with license regulations.

Despite the long standing rivalry between SpaceX’s Elon Musk and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, the two companies have decided to work together. In a lawsuit filed in September, it was claimed that Amazon showed bias towards Blue Origin, a company founded by Jeff Bezos, while snubbing SpaceX in its hunt for launch providers.

The tech feud between billionaires has been a dramatic affair for TV audiences. Bezos must have faced a tough decision when he decided to put his pride aside and ask SpaceX for help with Amazon’s launch needs. Currently, it looks like Elon is leading the space race.
