If want to test it on your forum, you sure that your server supports this version; you can update it by following the instructions, after making a backup of both your forum and data. After test, you can switch back from the backup to the old one.
i dont think it could tested in the demo version.

I wanted to test as a user. Also, I don't have a XF license and forum. :) I just like beta version of softwares and test new things.
